The Unmotivated Student

unnoticed

Looking across from my seat
A girl with glorious eyes,
Fulfilled with tears,
I asked her what’s wrong,
just to hear the answer I’m fine.

During lunch the astonishing smell of
Pizza pockets satisfied my nose
to my notion I’d think
She’d feel the same
But looking across from my seat
I see she pushed her plate away
And refused to eat
I asked her what’s wrong
And she replied with I’m fine

Next day I walk in, and look across from my seat
To see she looked drowsy and upset,
I repeatedly asked her what’s wrong ,
And she replied with I’m fine.
I knew she wasn’t fine
So I asked the teacher to give her some slack
Because she is going through a bit of a phase

This day I felt okay, thinking she was going to be fine
But looks like that wasn’t enough
Tears ran down her face
And all I could do was wipe them and ask
What’s wrong?
She replied with I’m fine

The following day
My teacher pulled me aside
To tell me she was being bullied,
Not only that but had a lot of personal stuff at home
I asked, what can I do
To my surprise i got no response.
I knew what I had to do to make her comfortable

A week passed and I was finally ready to start my magic
Walking into the room, poured heavenly showers of happiness
Seeing a wealthy garden of all types of plants
Within my eyes,
I could taste the sweetness of happiness
And smell the lovely fragrance of gaiety

I walked up to her,
And told her people cause pain
But pain is only in the brain
It’s not real, and doesn’t have to be
And I can help you through this,
“We can” *teacher and I say in unison*
This is a safe place and we can all help
Restart, flip the page, start a new chapter where you can embrace,
Love, life, and happiness
At that moment I could see a smile appear on her face
But I blinked and all I knew was she hugged me
And said, I’m fine, let’s talk,
My name is Leslie and this is my new chapter

An unmotivated or unnoticed student can feel many things. You always have to make sure they are okay, saying the smallest thing can change someone’s life in many ways. The smallest action can let someone light shine. Not only can you motivate them but you can become a hero.
